So last night in intercession while that song was playing again, I started joking with Jesus (we do that sometimes) about how we really only want figurative rain. And then He said to me: “It doesn’t take much faith to pray for rain in Thailand…. during the rainy season. It takes a whole lot more faith to pray for snow.”
Bahahahaha. What? Jesus, snow… in Thailand… in the rainforest.
And then He reminded me of the verse from Isaiah 1:18: “Though your sins are scarlet, they will be as white as snow.” And I saw Bangla covered in snow- the tables and chairs clothed in white and dirty street robed in freshness.
The thing about snow, is that unlike rain, it makes everything beautiful. It makes it pure. Bride walking down the aisle pure.
And that’s the kind of love that Jesus has for the people of Bangla Road. He wants to cover them with a blanket of His purifying love. To cover their sins with His precious blood. To restore innocence.
Ingrid Michaelson (oh, how I love her) has a song about this kind of love that God’s just been singing in my head nonstop since last night.
I want a snowfall kind of love
The kind of love that quiets the world
I want a snowfall kind of love
Cause I'm a snowfall kind of girl
I want a snowfall kind of love
That lights up the sky from below
I want a snowfall kind of love
That brings people to their window
Won't you bury me in your quiet love?
Oh bury me in your quiet love
Oh bury me in your quiet love
And we will blow away
So now I’m praying for snow. And people gonna think I’m crazy. But Jesus has a snowfall kind of love for Bangla and I wouldn’t be even a little bit surprised (although I might pee myself with joy) if He sends a blizzard all up over Bangla.
