“I need to journal! Guys I seriously, need to blog.” I’ve been saying this to my team for a few days now. I’m not sure why I’ve been struggling to post a few words about what’s going on with my life here. It certainly isn’t because I’m too busy but maybe it’s because I haven’t processed all the change that’s occurred over the past two weeks. Africa. Minnesota. Georgia. Thailand. Different showers, different beds, different food. In the midst of that, it’s funny to realize how every place I’ve been has felt like home.
A friend of mine prayed into the meaning of my name and typed it out for me. My last name: Hary, means ‘home-rule’. She writes, “After praying, I was constantly reminded of the phrase ‘home is where the heart is’. Since you are Christ, (my first name means follower of Christ) you make your home in Him and your rule from that place. You have a way of hearing the Lord so clearly and discerning what is true from what is not. Remain in the Lord and continue to rule or lead from the place you call home, Christ.”
Now, this wasn’t the first time a friend has prayed into my name but it was the first time I’ve ever had someone speak to me about my last name. It reminded me of the conversation I had with my friend Eric at training camp. We were both saying how God has just given us peace that our parent’s homes are no longer our homes. This wasn’t a negative thing, it was something to rejoice in—knowing the truth that wherever God leads me will be home and trusting He’ll give us peace as He calls us elsewhere.
God has been allowing me to experience so many places, so many groups of people and I've been in love every second. Praising my Father for focus and peace in my new home, despite the change with family and friends back 'home' in Minnesota.
