Me…in a bar?

So, you know I am definitely not the type of person to be partying it up at a bar, so how wild is it that God would use me to minister to women working in these bars in the red light district in Thailand?  Pretty wild.  Take that as encouragement that God can use you anywhere, He can take a broken mess and makes it something beautiful so you can bring comfort to those around you.

As I stepped to the counter with the girls dancing on top of the table, I just called out God's truth on that place.  No one can hear you, so you feel the freedom to speak up, even louder than a conversational tone and prophesy truth and Holy Spirit conviction to fall on these places.  As I sat drinking my water, God blessed me in that I was able to look at these girls' faces and just feel a friendship with them.  It was only a friendship from God – not sure how else you can be sitting in a bar filled with the spirit of lust and perversity and look at these girls and feel like you're sitting at home getting to know a new friend.  It was the feeling of complete peace from the Holy Spirit, the knowledge of boldness that perfect love casts out fear, the confidence that Christ has given me power over all the power of the devil.  And as I walked out of that bar and waved goodbye to this girl, I left remembering what her face looked like, not remembering her body as the dozens of men in that place did – that's a small part of the power of my God.

Pray for this place, pray for the places near you – even though I came to Thailand to serve in this ministry, I have been growing in the conviction that I need to pray for the places in my own "backyard".  Let your life be a gospel in itself.  I have always loved all of 2 Corinthians 4, but especially verses 3-6.  For sake of shortness I will only write out 3+4:-).  "But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost.  In whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them."  These women, these men, these girls, these tourists, these bar owners – they are blinded by Satan – please pray in binding these spirits and pray that indeed "God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, has shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ." – pray that His light will SHINE in this place!  Thank you so much for all the prayers I know are backing up me and my team – We treasure them all as they hold us up and together.

In Jesus,
Amy<><
