A City Not Forsaken

On Wednesday, we talked about prayer, intercession and prayer walking. We read tons of verses on the topic and then we were taken to a Buddhist temple where we were going to practice prayer walking. I had my bible, my iPod and my partner, Autumn.

Quick sidenote, we are like celebrities here. Autumn and I are both pretty tall, so walking around the temple at least 4 people asked for pictures with us.Their heads were at our ribcages!

Anyway, we stepped inside the temple and immediately, my chest felt heavy. Thai people are typicall pretty peaceful. But God was showing me that it was not His peace. It's not a peace that surpasses all understanding. It's not the peace that God gives. It's a peace from within themselves that will soon surely fade.

The temple had 3 levels. Autumn and I went up to the top that overlooked all the temples and up on the top of the mountains you could see the giant statue of Buddha.

Autumn and I began praying and we listened to my iPod and started worshipping the one TRUE God. I was praying for God to lead me to a verse that would tell me what He sees when He looks at Thailand.

He led me to Isaiah 62: 10 – 12 ~

Go through, go through the gates;

    prepare the way for the people;

build up, build up the highway;

    clear it of stones;

    lift up a signal over the peoples.

11 Behold, the Lord has proclaimed

    to the end of the earth:

Say to the daughter of Zion,

    “Behold, your salvation comes;

behold, his reward is with him,

    and his recompense before him.”

12 And they shall be called The Holy People,

    The Redeemed of the Lord;

and you shall be called Sought Out,

    A City Not Forsaken.

When God sees such a broken place with people who have a false peace, bowing down to false idols…he doesn't see a hopeless nation. He sees hope. He can and will start a revival in this place. I have no doubt.

God is going to do big things in this nation. They will be called Sought Out, A City NOT FORSAKEN!
