34 Then Jesus explained: “My nourishment comes from doing the will of God, who sent me, and from finishing his work. 35 You know the saying, ‘Four months between planting and harvest.’ But I say, wake up and look around. The fields are already ripe for harvest. 36 The harvesters are paid good wages, and the fruit they harvest is people brought to eternal life. What joy awaits both the planter and the harvester alike! 37 You know the saying, ‘One plants and another harvests.’ And it’s true. 38 I sent you to harvest where you didn’t plant; others had already done the work, and now you will get to gather the harvest.”
John 4:34-38 (NLT)
Bangla Road is ripe!! Last night, God told us to pick our fruit. To ask for it. To go up to girls and ask blatantly, "are you happy here?". "Do you like your job?". "Do you want to know Jesus?". "Do you understand what I am asking?". Seriously at least 6 girls in one night blatantly expressed their unhappiness. One girl told me "this job is bad for me." It was like they were waiting for us to come and ask if they want out.
During the day today, three Thai girls from Bangla Road came to visit the house that we stay at and do ministry with. One of those girls wants to leave the bars to live here and work here!
Tonight I stayed back to pray (with my small team and the two other teams on our daily rotation) while the other half of our whole team went out. They came back with the amazing news that one of the girls that came to our house today from Bangla Road accepted Christ!
I can't wait to hear the stories of the girls that show up to english class tomorrow. God is so good. He keeps his promises. He loves his children. He is letting us see fruit. Amazing.
