In Thailand, their philosophy is that the highest part of your body is the head also the cleanliest and the dirtiest part of your body is the feet. That is why I have to be mindful of two things: Never touch a little kid’s head because our hands are dirty and their mothers would be VERY MAD at me and two, never have the sole of our feet face someone because it is the equivalent to giving someone the middle finger. Yikes.
Anyways, today we talked about Prayer, Worship, Intercession and Prayer Walking. One passage that stuck out to me was in 2 Chronicles 20:21-24, when the Lord sent the worshippers first before the battle began. As the men began to sing and praise the Lord ambushes all the armies that were invading Judah and they were defeated. They started fighting against each other!!
A prophecy that was spoken over our team from by the Leader of Kenya told us that we would be worshipers in Thailand. We will be the worshippers before the battle, God’s battle and just reading that scripture was another confirmation for our team.
“Worship is giving back to God what He first gave us”- Oswald Chambers.
So afterwards, we all went to downtown Phuket where there were tons of temples in one section. We were to prayer walk for an hour in and around these temples. My partner, Allison and I went to the Tallest one. This temple had four floors. So the first floor I walked in and saw a lot of people bowing down and praying to this plastic gold-like Buddha. For some reason I felt peace, I didn’t know why or what it was but I began to pray for Truth. Instead of praying against, I pray for things that God was. Jesus is truth, He is love, He casts out all fear and I prayed that truth would be shown in that place. Then Allison and I entered the second floor. Again there were more statures of Buddha. Allison came over to me and told me that she is getting a huge headache and that she would be praying against confusion and praying for a piece of mind so I did the same. At the third level something begin to change.
We were now outside and we can see over all the other little shrines and temples. Allison came over to me and told me that when she opened the Word, it fell under this scripture: 1 Corinthians 11:3 “Now I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.” It reminded me of the whole Buddha philosophy and that as we get closer to the top it gets to their holiest. Therefore this is the place where iwe need prayer. Idols need to be brought down and minds need to be stirred because the God that they serve is not the true God. Isaiah 41:29 came to mind.
“look, all these idols are false, they cannot do anything, they are worth nothing.”
As I was praying I felt God in the Atmosphere and I was crying out to Him worshipping the one TRUE God in the midst of false idols freely in front of everyone that was in that temple,
“Every knee will bow, let me be the first to fall before you now….”
Pray that God stirs up the lives in Thailand and removes all Bondage from this Buddhist land.
