How big is your God?

I came yet again planning to write about something else (in this case getting sick and that whole escapade) but instead this came to me.

I feel like I've had this question posed to me a lot in the past few months. How big is your God Gloriel? How big is your God?? We can all admit He's pretty big right? He made the universe, knows the galaxies/stars by name, He holds the world in his hand. But how big is He to you? We've been told all our lives that God loves us. Has a plan for us. Comes and lives in us, and is alive today. But how much of that do we believe? How big is your God?

I've heard stories I'm sure we all have, ever since we were little about things God has done. Let's start basic, I know we all heard the story of God providing a lamb just in the nick of time so Abraham didn't have to sacrifice his only son. Or how bout when God used the prophet Elijah to not send rain on the earth for 3 years. Then Jesus came along healing the blind man, making the lame man walk, and even raising lazarus from the dead. And to top it all off He raised himself from the dead. Almost as a finishing to touch to show that He has conquered the grave and has already won.

Then come the stories about the apostles we've all heard, the building of the church right? Paul preached in the power of the Holy spirit and in one day 3,000 people came to Christ. Then they heal the lame man, heal blindness, disease, prophesy truth and life and healing over individuals, towns, families. They raise multiple people from the dead all in and through the power of the Holy Spirit – through Jesus Christ. I ask again, how big is your God?

Then there are the stories that maybe not all of us have heard. Some of you may have searched them out, some of you may have heard them from people you trust, some may have never heard them. But then there's us who've heard these stories but been told by "seasoned christians" that it only might have been a miracle. That most of the stories can be explained away either by science or logic. Grant it they probably didn't say these exact words because they still felt the need to seem like they believed God was able. But it just never sat well with you that it was just "half heartedly explained away". Least it never did with me. I mean after all, how BIG is my God??

Some of you reading this right now may still be confused all together, but I'm referring to stories of missionaries or people God used way back when. People who when they spoke, life was brought back to things, places, and people. When they laid their hands on people healing from incurable diseases happened. Addicts who "prayed in the spirit" or "in tongues" while they came off crazy drug addictions, alcohol, or even worse things but yet through the process had no with drawls and no pain and were filled with such a peace. Or what about the ones who saw angels, or even demons for that matter. Yet somehow it always gets explained away, or pushed under the rug. Think about these things and ask yourself, how big is your God?

I'm gonna be 100% right now. I don't get it!!!! God is the same, yesterday, today, and tomorrow right? So the same God who spoke to Abraham, who rose from the dead for a relationship with me, who sent the apostles out and changed the world through them is alive in me? Right?! He has given us His power (Holy Spirit). He has given us everything we need. And God wants to be glorified right? Thats one thing were on earth for is to glorify His name. But how can we glorify God if we don't even give Him a chance to work?!? How big is God to you? If He has given us His spirit then why aren't we healing people?! Why aren't people's lives being turned upside down?!?

I know I'm going to be stepping on some peoples toes with this, and this may shatter what some of you have believed and heard your whole life. I know that God used the apostles to start His church but there are places on this world, even in America where the Actual Christian (real Christ like people) church needs to start! So wether you think that power was for that time or not I don't know and I don't know if I even care. I'm looking at the Bible simply and trusting by faith that He speaks truth and applicable things to MY everyday life here and now in there.

So this is a challenge to whoever out there that is reading this. If God says Elijah was just like me, why am I not praying like it? If God say's have faith in Me and you will have my Holy Spirit then why am I not acting on it? Now I know that most of you reading this even if you were to walk with the power and boldness of the Holy Spirit may not see healing every day. But how big is God to you?? If God says you will have the power I have, to do these works and greater then these why am I not claiming that?!?! I'm sorry but I am fed up with a small comfy view of God! He is amazing and so explicit! He has given me a power I don't even know the extent of. Whaat?? I intend to stay in fellowship with Him, glorify Him and see how much power of His I'm missing. I am choosing to see His raw power. By the grace of God I will see the supernatural and be apart of it, I will pray and see people healed, I have power through Him and I intend to see the extent of it!

I believe God is manifesting His power constantly and we just need to look for it. I believe that He has given us gift's glorify Him. I'm taking in simple faith, at face value that I have a super natural power through Him. I don't know exactly what it is yet but I feel that when the time comes along for one specific that He will empower me. Wether it's speaking in tongues, healing, vision's, speaking life, we'll see but one things for sure. I'm changing my small view of God and instead choosing to see Him for who He truly is and see Him as big and powerful and working in my life through me today! I challenge you to walk in the power and authority He has given you. I am choosing this, I want you to walk this with me.
