Lion of Judah Thundering Deep

"The Lion of Judah's thundering deep, Roaring Down the walls of Fear in Me" In a room full of voices blending into divine harmonies, I felt like I was the only one striving to feel the presence of the Spirit that was descending upon everyone around me.  The Spirit seemed so palpable in their voices and raised hands, but I kept hitting a wall.  This past season, I have been working so hard.  As a full time grad student working two jobs, I have fallen into the mundane system of striving- striving to please bosses, professors, and my roommates…striving to be...

You can have me

Has anyone heard the song You can have me by Sidewalk Prophets? If you havent you need to! It is great! This song has been playing in my head all weekend. Here are a few lines: If I saw You on the street And You said come and follow me But I had to give up everything All I once held dear and all of my dreams Would I love You enough to let go Or would my love run dry When You asked for my life When did love become unmoving? When did love become unconsuming? Forgetting what the world has told me Father of love, You can have me You can have me How much am I willing to give up for the sake of...

Secret Operation

"Go to the beach" I could not get those words out of my head. I knew that God really wanted me to head down to the beach, which is at the end of Bangla Road, but I had no clue why. I knew I had to just step out on faith and head down there and see what God had in store for me. As we started to make our way down the road we almost make it to the end, when a guy stops us. He works at a tailor shop along the road and has started to recognize us. He asked what we were doing and so we just told him. He thought it was really cool that we were here helping the...

the mother in me <3

When I made the decision to listen to God and come on this trip I knew that He would work in my heart. I knew that He would open my eyes to things. I knew that He would stretch me, but I assumed He would be breaking my heart for the women here. For the prostitutes, for the men, for the bar owners…but He has been breaking my heart for thechildren.   I’ve always loved kids…I’m good with them and love playing with them and I’ve always figured I’d have some one day, but God has shown me my the depth of my mothers heart on this trip. When we are...

Drawn to Redemption by the Grace in His Eyes

"Drawn to redemption by the grace is in His eyes, if grace is an ocean we're all sinking."   These words kept playing back to me as I stood on the beach in Patong this week during a prayer walk. On one side of me there was Bangla Rd. On the other side was this big, majestic, untouchable ocean. The contrast was incredible to me as one represented God and other represented the mess we have made of His creation. But He still longs to wash each one of us clean and dress us in robes of righteousness. He longs for us to turn and to run to Him. This week my prayer...
