Turbulence

if you have ever experienced turbulence on an air plane, depending on your anxiousness and how bad the turbulence is, you know the never racking, stomach dropping, praying to Jesus for your life kind of feeling.  On our plane ride from Chicago to Frankfurt we has a bit of rough turbulence for about an hour, give or take a few minutes.  During the beginning it was just some light shaking but there were several times the plane shook a lot and had to drop down beneath the harsh wind currents in the air.  I would pray the lord would steady and the plane would stead for a while...

I’ve had a Beautiful Revelation

I’ve spent so much of my walk with Christ studying the virtuous woman while allowing myself to be intimidated by her, belittled by her mighty example and strength. But I’ve finally come to realize that despite what the world may think of me, I am the virtuous woman. Yeah, I said it. In fact every woman is her, it’s not a matter of becoming her, spending your life comparing yourself to the infamous woman of proverbs. It’s about realizing her example and finding your own way of becoming the virtuous woman God sees in you. I’ve worried myself sick about becoming...

Walking in the power of the forgotten God

An excerpt from “Forgotten God” by Francis Chan”             “The world is not moved by love or actions that are of human creation, and the church is not empowered to live differently from any other gathering of people without the Holy Spirit. such a coward

Geez! It's only day two of being in country, and I'm already letting go of what I learned just a week ago at training camp. Why is it that we so easily forget what the Lord has done for us? Why do we need to be reminded so frequently of His love when in all reality a glimpse of His vast affection should satisfy every fiber of our souls? It makes me wonder if we're really seeing the reality of his love. I mean, if we were really letting ourselves soak in the reality of what He has for us, where would we be standing today? What would our passions be? Would we still be...

uncertainties

A great man said “it’s crazy how so much uncertainty can bring great things.” I realized then how much God blesses us through the uncertainty. 200 years ago, college aged men met to pray, desperate for India to get to know the Lord. When it rained, they burrowed into a haystack and continued to pray. This is now known as the haystack prayer meeting and began the modern mission movement. They were uncertain about what to do and were just desperate. With sas, my friends and I were unsure about what to do, but knew something had to be done and blindly followed what we thought...

I was hit By lightening TWICE!

Just like water droplets forming from warm air, my prayers have collected together and become as big as clouds. These “prayer” clouds have become so big, banging together and forming like bubble gum causing my prayers to turn into blissful rain drops from heaven. A bit dramatic, yes. Yet, every time it rains it has become almost like a love language between God and I. Even though I have been reminded over and over again that this is not the rainy season, each time I have prayed and asked God for rain He has provided. Literally almost EVERY time. As excited as I would...
