Since before this trip began I have wrestled with God over what he wanted for me in this mission. My heart is working with women who are trapped in the sex industry, but I wasn’t sure why God was calling me to be a leader because that meant pouring into them instead of what I thought my heart was. I can honestly say that God has completely changed my heart and has been showing me what loving your sisters in Christ really looks like. He has been showing me that loving my girls is more than just a prayer or a shoulder to cry but it is carrying one another’s burdens. In Galatians, God says to “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ” [Galatians 6:2] I’ve read this verse countless times but I don’t think I’ve really understood it until now. At training camp, God showed me that I needed to pray to really have a heart for these girls and in that timing he began to give it to me. I felt their burdens so real in my heart as if they were my own and I wanted to just take those burdens from them in that moment, but God didn’t want that. Galatians doesn’t say to take one another’s burdens from them but instead to bear it or to support and hold it up. It’s like God has called me here to hold up the cinder block of a burden with each of my girls until they are ready to release it, and then lead them into the freedom God has. I can’t explain to you the love I have for these girls already, I know that God has so much in store for them and I can’t wait to bear with them until that comes. I thought I would be coming here to phuket to get more of a burden and passion for the women trapped in the bars, and while God is using me in that place he has been growing my love for the girls he has given me to lead, and showing me that my generation is ready to flourish for Christ and do great things for the kingdom!
I wish you could meet these girls and spend just a day with them, because I know your life would be changed. Mine is already changing because of them, they are beautiful woman of God and together are a force to be reckoned with for the kingdom of heaven.
They are beautiful. They are self less. They are redeemed. They are genuine and giving. They are passionate and anointed. They are obedient to their maker. They aren’t coming back the same.
