Rooted

Have you ever noticed how plants grow in some of the strangest places?
Take this one as an example.

Somehow a seed landed in that strange little nook. That is a pretty astounding feat in and of itself. But it not only landed there, it sprouted. It began to grow. It’s roots somehow managed to grab onto some crack in the wall. The most amazing thing is the size of the plant. It isn’t some puny little twerp. It has many leaves growing off a strong stem. It has survived the elements. It has outlasted the heat. It has held strong in the wind. It has survived.

This is a beautiful representation of every living thing’s desire and NEED to grow.
Whether it is a plant, animal, or human being, we all need to grow.
It is not something that we grudgingly do.

Can you picture a 13 year old boy who is 5 feet tall saying “Fiiiiiine, I’ll allow my body to grow taller.”

No, that is absurd.

To hinder growth is to hinder the ability to function and be healthy.

That plant needed to grow. It didn’t choose to. It NEEDED to because that is what God created it to do. It grew in that strange nook. Somehow, it survived and it will continue to grow…for a while.

At some point that plant will become too large. It will not receive the nourishment that it needs. One way or another the plant will eventually die. It can only survive for so long before it will not longer sustain growth.

It needs earth.
It needs water.
It needs sun.

It needs those things in the same way that we need the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Without them, our souls wither and can no longer sustain growth.

Now, would you have read this blog differently if I told you that plant was growing on the side of an underage brothel? And that there is probably a child trying to grow in the hostile environment?

She will survive. But only for so long.
She needs the Father.
She needs the Son.
She needs the Holy Spirit.

SHE NEEDS GROWTH.

Who are we to deny her what she has been created to do?

Open your eyes. Look at the bigger picture. You may be amazed at what you see.
