Fasting Whaaat??!! (you must! be cra cra)

Nope uh! uh! thats not me, I Love food too much!! You don't understand. That's probably very similar to the response I would have given you had you told me I would be fasting here (except for the obvious comforts in the states). God's been showing me how in order to have more of Him I need to remove more of me. Make sense? Let me try to break it down. I want more of God, infact all I want is to be ridiculously close to Him. But He's been showing me that the only way I can is if I'm willing to give things up. Because, I mean, lets be real, how can something be filled if...

The Enemy Does Not Take a Day Off

"Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour."  1 Peter 5:8 "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of the dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." Ephesians 6:12 In preparation for this trip I prayed occasionally against the spiritual darkness that I would encounter in Thailand. I did my best in praying, but this last week has one word to summarize it: BATTLE It started on...

The Only Jesus They See

Have you ever went up to a believer and told them that you are madly in love with them because you see your creator in their eyes? Or better yet, can you go up to a believer who is just so hard for you to love and tell them that you are madly in love with them because the same Jesus that is in you lives in them? “And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you. Romans 8:11” If you accepted Jesus Christ in your heart then His...

The Neighbors Might Think We have Evil Spirits

Every night before we go out on Bangla Road we worship for an hour. Because we are overseas missionaries and don’t have church, here’s what we can do: 1) Have Kendra play a few songs on the SHE guitar, this never last long so we end up going from her leading to singing a cappella and back again. 2) Have no music and someone (sometimes more than one at a time) starts singing a song and whoever wants to sing that song sings too. 3) Someone puts together a playlist on their computer/ipod and we sing along, the problem with this is the speakers are never loud enough to hear the...

born to stand out.

The whole journey leading up to this trip started with God lighting a fire in my soul for working with girls and women like the ones in the bars at Bangla. So naturally, coming here I was looking way forward to speaking life and value into these women.  All along that was my prayer, that God would let me tell these women that they're beautiful and so valuable. So, our bar ministry started. I was ready and excited to go talk to women at Bangla. I just wanted to speak words of life to them. But our first few times there, I hardly got to speak to anyone. My other teammates, Radha and...

Jibber Jabber

Well here we go again, try #5. I have started four different blogs before this one. For some reason none of them have sat well with me, and I haven't been able to shake the feeling of writing about my time with God a few days ago. After all, you guys want to hear about our ministry, what the labour is like. How bar ministry is going. Buut I just couldn't write about it this time. During our team time a few days ago we took sometime to sit with God and just listen. After awhile of sitting there I started writing God a letter, but turns out He wanted to write to me. So bear with...
