the lion of Judah

Well, we've been so incredibly spoiled to be able to call this bowl of trees and streaming water our home for the past four days. To be raw and real, I've been absolutely dreading training camp, but the Lord has taken a chisel to my heart and I'm desperate to spill it out. The first night we arrived, we sang a song that the Lord fed to our worship leader in a time of darkness and rejection: “The lion of Judah's thundering deep, breaking down the walls of fear in me. From deep inside this battle cry you roar.” Every night since, we've repeated this...

Training Camp, oh the glorious days of Training Camp. The last few days have been filled with roaring worship, encouraging sessions, and beautiful community.  God is truly preparing an army of 200 or so students that are beyond passionate about serving God, serving others, and changing the world.  The best part?  I truly believe that this community is going to change the world.  As I prepare for Thailand, I have been praying for God to speak to me, to speak purpose into this trip, to speak courage into my sisters, and to speak freedom over Thailand.  I can say...

Beauty for Ashes

“Do you trust me?”That is the question God has asked me over and over throughout my journey to Thailand. One of the speakers talked about surrender yesterday. She told us that surrendering with the Lord is not about Him taking something from us, but it’s about Him asking us to give up something in order for Him to give us something so much more! Even before I got to training camp, I knew that there were things God wanted me to let go of in order for Him to work through me this summer. Again, I could hear Him asking me, “Do you trust me?” One word that keeps...

Thus the Journey Begins

So, the training camp experienc has been very AMAZING, for lack of a better word. To start off with, girls on my team. We may have only met about 3 days ago, but we truly are close already, and we are definitely becoming a family. I love them and I can’t wait to see how the Lord is going to use everyone in Thailand. The Lord has been giving freedom and I have been surrendering some things that were potentially going to be holding me back from the minister to these women that could hold me back. Also we have learned more of the ministry type things that we will be doing and it is soooo...

Training Camp is Too Stinkin Long

So training camp… Ah. Where to start?   Saturday: We got surprised with a “Here’s 4 tarps and 4 ropes. Build a shelter for the 27 people in your group. This is where you will be sleeping tonight…” Haha. Talk about bonding.       We had like a mansion tent and it was pretty awesome. It was absolutely freezing and we were told we could only bring 3 items. Let’s just say we all woke up angry and cold.   Sunday Night: Worship is incredible here. It’s amazing to see how the Lord works when you get together 200 people...

Declaring Freedom from Freedom

Training camp….where oh where to begin. I came to camp three days ago not expecting too much; you know, a few cultural classes, learning some language and growing closer to the girls. One out of three isn’t that bad right?                God has been moving in amazing ways. From night one he began meeting me in an intimate and personal place in a way that I never expected. All of this was epitomized last night in our service. When were worshipping I was met by the Holy...
