Thailand here we come!

Training Camp. The thing that begins the journey that is the next two months of my life.  A place that means BUILDING a shelter that the 26 members of our team can sleep in.  A place that means huddling together with girls you just met because our shelter did not keep out the cold night air.  It means climbing the side of a mountain in flip flops praying that you don't slip and fall causing a domino effect with the line of people climbing behind you. But it also means bonding and making memories with my team in ways I couldn't before imagine.  It means surrending...

the lion of Judah

Well, we've been so incredibly spoiled to be able to call this bowl of trees and streaming water our home for the past four days. To be raw and real, I've been absolutely dreading training camp, but the Lord has taken a chisel to my heart and I'm desperate to spill it out. The first night we arrived, we sang a song that the Lord fed to our worship leader in a time of darkness and rejection: “The lion of Judah's thundering deep, breaking down the walls of fear in me. From deep inside this battle cry you roar.” Every night since, we've repeated this...

Thus the Journey Begins

So, the training camp experienc has been very AMAZING, for lack of a better word. To start off with, girls on my team. We may have only met about 3 days ago, but we truly are close already, and we are definitely becoming a family. I love them and I can’t wait to see how the Lord is going to use everyone in Thailand. The Lord has been giving freedom and I have been surrendering some things that were potentially going to be holding me back from the minister to these women that could hold me back. Also we have learned more of the ministry type things that we will be doing and it is soooo...

Training Camp is Too Stinkin Long

So training camp… Ah. Where to start?   Saturday: We got surprised with a “Here’s 4 tarps and 4 ropes. Build a shelter for the 27 people in your group. This is where you will be sleeping tonight…” Haha. Talk about bonding.       We had like a mansion tent and it was pretty awesome. It was absolutely freezing and we were told we could only bring 3 items. Let’s just say we all woke up angry and cold.   Sunday Night: Worship is incredible here. It’s amazing to see how the Lord works when you get together 200 people...

Uncomfortable Joy

Training camp has been this really uncomfortable, sweaty, sleepless, joyful, incredible, moving, and amazing struggle.  Although the training is constant and everyone is exhausted from anticipation, sleeping outside, and travel, there is so much joy and worship of what is to come.  I can see this vision of evil fleeing from the light of God that goes before us.  I am walking down Bangla Road and I lift my hands and can literally push out the evil.  God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of love (2nd Timothy 1:7) and we are to walk in obedience with that weapon of...

Words to Build a Life On

Training Camp… woah, nelly. I’ve been trying to figure out exactly how to describe this and sum up everything I’ve seen and felt and I‘ve written about a gazillion bullet points that I don’t know what to do with.  Words- so many words that God is speaking and pouring over this trip and our lives.  And the Word is alive, and He is moving and I’m starting to wonder where this understanding has been my whole life. There is so much freedom here.  People dance in worship.  Confession: my uncoordinated Nazarene feet were moving, baby! We...
