God’s Hands Are Holding Me

Do you know that God holds us in His hands?? He wants us to depend on Him for EVERYTHING. When we don't let him hold us, we are not in sync will all that He has for us. We worry, we doubt, we stress out and think that we have to do it all. This is where I was a few days ago. I am not usually an anxious person, but thats where I was at this time.    I turned on my ipod to do a quiet time, because I had to give it to the Lord. The first song that played was "By your side" by Brandon Heath. God often speaks to me through music, and lyrics will suddenly...

Into The Darkness

I am sorry for not writing until now. I have been in Thailand for three weeks now. I have no excuse. It is so hard for me to write and describe what I have seen and been apart of. I wish I could take you all with me one night as we minister on Bangla Road in Patong (the bar ministry we are apart of). It would make all what I have seen these past few weeks make much more sense. So please bear with me.  We are working with an organization who gets girls out of the bars and helps them see their real worth in God and that they have other options besides...

Drunk and Broken

Sometimes when we go out to the bars it seems that we are completely invisible. Sometimes it is a good thing because we can slip under the radar more easily, but sometimes even the girls at the bars completely ignore us. So Friday night when we were getting ready to go out, my group and I prayed that it would be a completely different night for us and it was. God told us to just go to whatever bar we wanted to and just act in faith. So we did just that. Two of my girls had a wonderful conversation with one of the girls at the bars. She knew that they deserved so...

His still small voice

John 10:3-4 " The sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice."   Over the past month I have come to realize that God speaks to me personally and God has been taking me on a  journey of learning how to discern His voice.    While prayer walking down Bangla road with my team on Tuesday afternoon, I kept hearing his still, small voice and was trying frantically to write it all down before I forgot.  We were...

The True Tale of 3 Roses

I was finishing off my coke and interceding for the conversation that was flowing between my teammates and the bargirls when she came up to me… an older Thai woman selling beautiful long stemmed red roses bundled into groups of three. “Would you like to buy some roses?” she asked hopefully. “No, thank you” I replied with a smile. She began to walk away, moving on to offer her flowers to a group of rowdy European men. “Wait,” I yelled after her, “I’ll buy some!” Before, I knew what I was doing I was holding a bouquet of roses...

Let There Be Light

Changes are beginning on Bangla Road. We're starting to see rays of light seep into the place that is engulfed in darkness. We noticed the changes as we walked through the streets and people recognized us and knew us because of Christ in us. Tourists asked us how our night had been going and told us what great things we were doing. Ping Pong men (trying to get you to come see the strip club) smiled as we walked by and saved us the aggressive assault because they already knew our answer. But most importantly,  the women were so happy to see us. We have this idea and prayer that when...
