When you think of love, what comes to mind? The butterfly's that you feel when someone touches your hand or maybe when you lose your breath when someone walks in the room, or my personal favorite you quote the verse "love is patient, love is kind…" And that's all you quote because that's all you remember. Well that's what I used to think too, until God ripped me in two and shoved the truth of love in me. It's not all flowery and only for women who watch chick flicks, it's actually hardcore.
These past weeks God has showed me His love. I was told that I need to work on letting God love me. And then I had someone speak all this truth into me, about God's love. She had 5 minutes worth of God to proclaim over me. She told me to claim 1 Corinthians 13. So I am.  I read it and then read it again and then asked God to speak and then read it again and then it hit me, verse 8 in the message goes "love never dies" and then in my other bible it says " love never ends" and yet another version it goes, " love never fails." Well if you read 1 John 4:16 it says "God is love." Do you see it. If God is love and love never dies, ends or fails then Whoa. Thats some pretty powerful love that God is. There is so much more to God then anyone knows. " for God so loved…" (Jn. 3:16) For God who is love -who never ends, dies or fails- loved the world…"
Love is powerful, because love is God. And God is big. Big enough to take on the sins of this world without a word. "Because he looked death in the face and didn't flinch." (Is. 53:11) He loved us with so much  bravery that he didn't even flinch when death came knocking,Mocking him and laughing in his face. But little did death know that it couldn't hold him. He rose and is alive, because Love never dies, ends or fails. Yeah, when you think of Love being God it kinda throws that whole persona out the window. Love is hardcore. Thank God for his love that defied all odds and killed death just so that we could fully experience the love that is himself.

Wow, crazy that he can teach you so much. But he quickly let me know that this is only the roofing of my renovation, which fits perfectly with Songs of Solomon 2:4, "Let him lead me to the banquet hall, and let his banner over me be love." Oh yes, this banner of love is the roofing of me.
