That’s Where Love Is Found

When there is a language barrier between you and the Burmese worker trying to ask you for help, but the love of Christ takes over and makes actions speak louder than a thousand words ever could. That’s where love is found.

When you are given just a few minutes to talk to the street vendors, but those few minutes are more precious to them than you could imagine. Because for once they are being treated like human beings and not being rudely pushed aside. That’s where love is found.

When you are in a bar that seems to be surrounded in absolute darkness, but you get the chance to write one word on a Jenga piece. A word that could speak volumes to people, even after your time here in Thailand. That’s where love is found.

My teammate, Anna, got to write on one of the Jenga pieces. She wanted a word that would mean something so she put “worthy” on it.

When after a night of celebrating the small victories in a place that is literally Hell on Earth, your ministry team can be silly together and just love on each other. That’s where love is found.

My beautiful ministry group. We took a little time for a photo shoot after ministry this week.

The Lord has given us such a gift in being here this summer. He has showed us the depths of His love. He has shown us ways to love on people that we never would have thought of on our own. But those things last. He is using us to share His incredible love on Bangla Road. They might be ways that seem incredibly small to many, but it means the WORLD to those receiving that love.

Each night, before we go out we come to the Lord in a time of worship. The lyrics in this song have been speaking to me all week:

Let there be oil in my lamp.
Let the fire not go out, when I hear the Bridegroom comes.

Let there be oil in my lamp. Make us ready.
So take my lamp and set it on a hill.
Set it on a lamp stand, I won’t be hidden.

I’ll be dripping with the oils of love.

God, this week as we head into our last weeks of ministry I pray that we love on people in whatever way possible. No matter how insignificant it may seem at the time let us drip with the oils of your love. Because even one ounce of your love is better than anything they could ever find on Bangla.
