My Heart for the Men

When I signed up for this trip, my plan was to pour out to the prostitutes and share the love of Jesus with them. Little did I know that my heart would break just as much for the men as it did for the women. Bangla Road is a dark place. The air is filled with so much cigarette smoke and the smell of alcohol that it's so hard to even breathe.  The girls will tell you that they don't like their job and it's so hard because you can see the desperate call for help in their eyes. But what do you do when you see a man sitting alone at a bar not paying attention to anyting else...

Amazed By Daddy!

“He reached down from heaven and rescued me; He drew me out of deep waters. He rescued me from my powerful enemies, from those who hated me and were too strong from me.” Psalm 18:16-17 Dear Daddy,   You are changing each one of our lives already on this trip and we have only been in Phuket for three days. We have a unity that is already there, because we already have one thing in common which is the eagerness and wanting to know you more and our love for you. We only wanted to have a short team meeting, but all of us were able to open up and share what Satan has really been...

Unworthy, Unclean, but So Incredibly Loved

“You are fearfully and wonderfully made.” As I sat awake, in the middle of the night, on a 12 hour bus ride, I prayed and those are the words God gave me to speak to the women of Thailand that I will soon meet. Okay, so our journey from Atlanta to Phuket was many things, however, glamorous was not one of them. With three flights, 1 (LONG) bus ride, and lots of waiting adding up to over 60 hours of travel, we were all ready to arrive in Phuket Friday morning! Our journey was filled with exhaustion, a tiny bit of culture shock, and a realization that Thailand was finally, actually...

Made it Safely

We just spoke with the team leaders and they've all arrived safely in Thailand.  They are in route to their ministry site via some very long bus rides and will be settling in these next few days and getting some orientation from their host.  Expect to see some blogs rolling out in the next few days as they find internet. Thanks for all the prayers for this team! The Passport field support team

Now I Know How Tourist Feel

Traveling is STRESSFUL. And interesting. And awkward.  When we arrived in Chicago we were so amazed by these plastic, swirling, seat covers.    And of course the crazy lights in the Chicago airport…  And all of the people that got caught sleeping…      On the way to Germany we were served dinner at 12:30 am and honestly, I had to watch the guy next to me because I didn't know how to eat it.  Come to find out that the brown stuff is chocolate mousse and not refried beans…  Next stop, Bangkok, Thailand!   Sydney...

Training Camp is Too Stinkin Long

So training camp… Ah. Where to start?   Saturday: We got surprised with a “Here’s 4 tarps and 4 ropes. Build a shelter for the 27 people in your group. This is where you will be sleeping tonight…” Haha. Talk about bonding.       We had like a mansion tent and it was pretty awesome. It was absolutely freezing and we were told we could only bring 3 items. Let’s just say we all woke up angry and cold.   Sunday Night: Worship is incredible here. It’s amazing to see how the Lord works when you get together 200 people...
