Your Love Makes it Worth it All

I’m sure I scared some people with last week’s blog. That wasn’t my intention, I felt I needed to be raw and real about my life here in Thailand. Autumn and I talked a lot about it and she told me I don’t have to be strong all the time, and I should share the raw frustrations sometimes with my supporters. Here’s the crazy thing after I posted last week’s blog I laid down to take a nap, but instead of sleeping I thought. As I lay there in my rock hard bed, God met with me. He reminded me of so much, and in that I realized how happy I am to be here in...

Selfless faith.

Yahweh. Papa. God. Abba. Savior. Creator. Love. Protector. Lord. Almighty. Most High. King. Holy. Heavenly Father. I am.                As I read through the Old Testament, I can’t help but be astounded by the selfless faith that filled the men and women who put their hope in God. Word Vomit: Are You Still Jealous?

I don’t want to blog. End of story. Why would you want to read about my past week in Thailand? I wouldn’t even blame you for leaving this page before I finish. Before I left America I had so many people tell me how jealous they are of me, and how they’d like to go to Thailand, and how it was good of me to do bar ministry, etc. I don’t think anyone will be jealous of me after reading this. I don’t want to be here. Don’t get me wrong, this place is beautiful, “the land of many smiles” is just that, and I’m exactly where I’m...

The Enemy Does Not Take a Day Off

"Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour."  1 Peter 5:8 "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of the dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." Ephesians 6:12 In preparation for this trip I prayed occasionally against the spiritual darkness that I would encounter in Thailand. I did my best in praying, but this last week has one word to summarize it: BATTLE It started on...

The Neighbors Might Think We have Evil Spirits

Every night before we go out on Bangla Road we worship for an hour. Because we are overseas missionaries and don’t have church, here’s what we can do: 1) Have Kendra play a few songs on the SHE guitar, this never last long so we end up going from her leading to singing a cappella and back again. 2) Have no music and someone (sometimes more than one at a time) starts singing a song and whoever wants to sing that song sings too. 3) Someone puts together a playlist on their computer/ipod and we sing along, the problem with this is the speakers are never loud enough to hear the...

I thought you all might like to see some pictures, so I decided to do a photoblog! Me & Gloriel with Ronald. The way we're posed is how you greet someone in Thailand. We got some saltine crackers with chocolate on them.  My sisters! Minus our leader, Kristen. The Thai equivalent to powerade. (so good) Pretty excited to get some starbucks! Me and Autumn at the beach! Trying Lyche for the first time. It was good but Dragon fruit was better 🙂 Had to bring a little piece of YoungLife to Thailand with me. Got to facetime with my family & this was my 2-year-old...
