Did you know I am from Bangkok?

“Funny how when you plan on blessing someone it turns out that we were the ones being blessed!”- Quote as Saraw, Sabrina and I walked away from a great lunch date with Ale.   On Wednesday I got the chance to go with two of my teammates, Saraw and Sabrina, to have lunch with Ale, one of the girls we have made friends with at the bar.  We met her on Bangla road and after a game of charades we finally some what understood what the other was trying to say. She was going to take us to get good Thai food. As we followed Ale down the road to a street vender of her choice we...

Husband Day Care Center

"The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, for the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor.  he has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed.  He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the Lord's favor has come, and with it, the day of God's anger against their enemies." Isaiah 61 1-2 Hands trembling, sweating from the heat, and with indescribable fear the eight of us girls piled into Sharon's truck for our first night to go onto Bangla road. Trying to...

BAHT

BAHT   How can I describe to you the things that I’ve see on Bangla Road this past week? How can such a short stretch of pavement house over 200 bars and 1200 girls working there, being bought with BAHT (Thai currency)? The streets are packed with people as we arrive around 10pm. Russian girls are dancing on poles in glass cages high above and out of our grasp, Thai women dancing on tables with everything hanging out, “lady boys” (men dressed and stitched to look like women) clothed in elaborate feathers and wings. It’s so LOUD, lights flashing, men and women...

Eyes of a tourist

My back yard! ^^ Wow. Living in Thailand has been too good for words. Other than the crazy humidity, the scenery is magnificent. Being in walking distance to our little “town' which consists of one street that has mini markets and a seven eleven, has been where we've bought Thai Teas, Iced Coffee, and amazing chicken and sauteed veggies that they make right in front of us! People have been right, Thai people are defiantly known for their smiles. They are all so loving and are excited to hear my attempts of their tough tonal language. I'm surprisingly catching on...

Guess what I did for my birthday

So it was my birthday on Tuesday. I'm not particularly big on birthdays, but my team apparently is. They sang to me at least 3 times, one of those times being when they brought me a cake that consisted of Danish cookies with Nutella on them., and matches as candles. But that wasn't the only cake I got that day. We wend out to Bangla road that night to hang out with the girls. At one of the bars we stopped at there were four girsl. We talked for awhile, told them it was my birthday, played some connect four, etc. After awhile two fo the girls walked off, and the other ones brought...

Two Down. One million to go.

"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." Galatians 6:9 It's harvest time here in Patong and I couldn't be more grateful 🙂 As we were heading in to this last week of ministry, I was weighed down with worries about what kind of lasting impact we would leave here. I was humbled time and time again by God reminding me that He cares way more about these women then we ever could and wil continue to fight for them long after we're back in the U.S. of A. That being said, he also mentioned something...
