A Life Unappreciated

Psalm 127:3 says “Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from Him.” What an incredible idea. That each of us is a reward to those whose homes God places us into- we are to have been treasured and watched over, protected and loved.  God promises that he has a plan for each and every one of us, each and every one of his precious children. A hope and a future. Because of the life I have been so incredibly blessed to have lived it has been so easy to go each day without being truly thankful. Thankful in the stillness, thankful in the love, the protection, the...

Break Every Chain

So.. training camp. I'm not sure there are words that would perfectly describe what these few days of training have been like. I have been so out of my comfort zone, vulnerable, and so, so free at the same time. The spirit has moved so much, in ways that i have never seen before. A reaccuring theme for me  has definately been breaking chains and God bringing his children back to him. Hosea 2:14-20 "But then I will win her back once again I will lead her into the desert and speak into her there. I will return her vineyards to her and transform the valley of trouble into a gateway...

Release

Training Camp, oh the glorious days of Training Camp. The last few days have been filled with roaring worship, encouraging sessions, and beautiful community.  God is truly preparing an army of 200 or so students that are beyond passionate about serving God, serving others, and changing the world.  The best part?  I truly believe that this community is going to change the world.  As I prepare for Thailand, I have been praying for God to speak to me, to speak purpose into this trip, to speak courage into my sisters, and to speak freedom over Thailand.  I can say confidently...

Restoration

Restoration is defined as, “the process of repairing or renovating a building, work of art, etc”. During my time here at training camp, the word “restoration” has been coming up over and over again. While being prayed over many times, it seems that the Lord is trying to tell me something. He is calling me by name, “Torie, come to me. Rest in my arms my dear beloved child. I want to restore you”. Just like the definition of restoration, we are His work of art and he wants to repair us. The Lord wants to take away every wrong, every sin, and every hurt. How...

Thailand here we come!

Training Camp. The thing that begins the journey that is the next two months of my life.  A place that means BUILDING a shelter that the 26 members of our team can sleep in.  A place that means huddling together with girls you just met because our shelter did not keep out the cold night air.  It means climbing the side of a mountain in flip flops praying that you don't slip and fall causing a domino effect with the line of people climbing behind you. But it also means bonding and making memories with my team in ways I couldn't before imagine.  It means surrending...

the lion of Judah

Well, we've been so incredibly spoiled to be able to call this bowl of trees and streaming water our home for the past four days. To be raw and real, I've been absolutely dreading training camp, but the Lord has taken a chisel to my heart and I'm desperate to spill it out. The first night we arrived, we sang a song that the Lord fed to our worship leader in a time of darkness and rejection: “The lion of Judah's thundering deep, breaking down the walls of fear in me. From deep inside this battle cry you roar.” Every night since, we've repeated this verse...
