Hello family and friends:) First of all, I am so sorry it has taken me awhile to get to you on this blog. As expected, it has been quite busy, but I would love to update this more and will definitely be trying hard to do that!
I am , at the moment, sitting in our YWAM training center room in Bangkok, Thailand. Bangkok in bustling, yet we're on the outskirts, so it isn't very overwhelming. The Thai people are friendly and welcoming as they run stores in the mall where we were able to look around yesterday and in their street booths where we have purchased fresh fruit and smoothies for approximately fifty U.S. cents.
The group is getting along really well, though many of us aren't used to be with all girls. Its been a challenge with understanding that this group is kinda a society of its own. As a sociology major, I've noticed that all of the "rules" that are usually apparent in normal life aren't so conflicting because every girl here is looking in the same direction. I've once heard a quote that became one of my favorites. Its said by Antoine de Saint-Exupery and it says "Love does not consist in gazing at each other, but in looking outward in the same direction." Though that quote is probably directed towards more romantic relationships, I see that it is totally relevant in this group!! I love that we love Jesus (and are looking in that direction)! So, in short, the group is great 🙂 …and we got to know each other a lot in training camp and now here in Thailand.
We are about to head to Phuket and I am excited! I think its pretty safe to say that we are all pretty excited. God is pressing me to give Him ALL of me and I'm hoping to grow in this as we get to a new city. I've learned to ask things of God, as I have previously struggled with asking anything of God, who has a will that is greater than anything I can think of. I have learned that He can reach people in different ways and that that is PRAISEWORTHY! Your identity is in Christ and He does not compare you to others or hold you to any mistakes. You are blameless. 🙂
So, to my family in Christ..thank you for keeping in touch! Please be praying for our spirits and that we remain united and confident in our identity as a vessel by God. Talk to you soon!
Love you all, <3 (really really…I do!)
