Our lives in Thailand

First of all, thank you all for praying for me with the whole driving deal. It has been going very well so far. God really cleared the big scary hill the first time I had to go over it, and it's hasn't been to bad since. So thanks for all the prayers for that. 🙂

So let me describe a typical week of ours to you: right now we are the only team here, so our schedule has changed some. We are split into two teams of four, and only one team goes out onto Bangla per night. The other teams have been interceding at the Starbucks at the end of the road. We also decided to take Wednesday nights off, since all of us are going to Patong every other week nights. It’s rather exhausting, A, because we don’t get back until midnight or so, and B, because of all the spiritual warfare and mental focus needed. So each team is on Bangla two nights a week, and interceding for the other team two nights.

On days that your smaller team doesn’t go onto Bangla, you go to “the land,” which is a bit of land that SHE has a long term lease on on the other side of the island. They are working on clearing and developing the land for another center and other buildings. We have been weed-whacking, mowing, raking, burning, and such. Weekends we have to ourselves for resting and relaxing. We usually hang out, sleep, watch movies, go to the nearby mall, sleep, go to the beach, sleep… Also, if we have any dates with girls, that’s usually in the afternoons on Saturday, Sunday, or days we aren’t on the land.

So that’s roughly what a week of ours looks like, minus team times, 7/11 runs, copious amounts of food, and more sleep.
