Mae Sai

Mae Sai This town is near the Thai-Burmese border.  We didn’t see much of it except the bridge that leads to Burma and the Drop-In Center where we worked for the week.   There are the most amazing kids that live in between Burma and Thailand.  They go back and forth between the border begging for money.  Their parents, for the most part, are on drugs and don’t take care of them.   We spent our days in the Drop In Center.  We hung out with these street kids asthey filtered in and out of the center.  We hung out with them, laughed with...

Insanity at it’s best.

in·san·i·ty [in-san-i-tee] noun. 1. Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Disclaimer: This is RAW. UNEDITED. EXPOSED.   I can get away with it this time. Where We’ve Been

This is a pretty simple outline of our travels which could contain a million stories of the work and glory of God, however I wanted to give you a basic outline first. And there’s a short story of the strength of God in my life recently.  After 20 hours worth of flights and an 11 hour time change we landed in Bangkok. We stayed there just until we could book our 10 hour bus ride to Chiang Mai where we met our first contacts: Ray and Candice. We loaded a ten bag pyramid on the top of his truck and have been getting around either crammed in the back seat or bouncing around in the...

This is Hope

It’s funny the things you stumble upon unexpectedly. Well, not really funny, but just really God. A couple of us were walking down the streets of Mae Sai, pretty much smack in the middle of the red-light district, on a prayer walk. I had only done something like this once before, so I felt a little inadequate in going to do this. Do I know what I’m doing? No. Do I know what to pray for? Not really. Oh well! I’ll go anyways. As we started to walk, I began looking around. Kids playing in the dirt…women selling fruit and clothes on the street…a group of...
