God is not done on Bangla

One night a couple weeks ago as my team was leaving Bangla I felt God telling me: “I am not done on Bangla.”  We were almost to the end of the street, so I stopped quick and looked back. “What more do you have for me God?” But though I turned and looked, I didn’t see anyone I felt called to talk to, I didn’t see a street I felt called to walk down, I didn’t feel called to do anything. So I turned and continued walking off the street. Once again I heard God say, “I am not done on Bangla.” I turned again and looked down the street....

Revival? Yes Please

Our team has been praying for a revival on Bangla Street.  As we walk the street every day and see so much darkness we constantly are asking God to change that place in a massive way.  The other night our team of intercessors prayed for joy and laughter as well as a revival. Ask and you shall receive…right? Absolutely. As our night neared the end on Bangla, God did just that. My team and I were walking by a bar with a live band. They announced that they were about to play a Britney Spears song and of course I wanted to stay and listen. We stood outside the bar as they...

Bringing the Kingdom to Bangla

During worship the other night God gave me an image and placed the women of Bangla very heavy on my heart. First he revealed to me a heart of a Christian. It has holes from pain and brokenness that we’ve all experienced at some point in life, but the holes are now full and over flowing with water because Jesus is the living water. Then I started thinking about how the women on Bangla are so hurt and full of sorrow. They feel shameful and dirty because of the life they are enslaved to, but the dirtiness they feel day after day cannot be taken away by a shower the next morning. Only...

Love is Hardcore

When you think of love, what comes to mind? The butterfly's that you feel when someone touches your hand or maybe when you lose your breath when someone walks in the room, or my personal favorite you quote the verse "love is patient, love is kind…" And that's all you quote because that's all you remember. Well that's what I used to think too, until God ripped me in two and shoved the truth of love in me. It's not all flowery and only for women who watch chick flicks, it's actually hardcore....

The Joy of the Lord

Last Friday night my team was leaving Bangla road. We were done for the night and heading to our meeting spot in order to head back to the house. As we walked back, Thai men and women would come up to us with posters wanting us to come to a Ping Pong show in the bars. Now here in Thailand the term Ping Pong show does not refer to table tennis, but strip shows. Most tourists ignore these people who advertise and won’t even look at them but my team has made a point to look, not at the poster, but at the face behind the pictures and smile and say no politely.   As we walked back, I...
