Expectations

When we were at training camp, we were told to let go of all of our expectations. Honestly, I’m not really sure what my expectations were coming into Thailand. But I can tell you that there are a lot of things I didn’t expect. I really didn’t think I would miss my family as much as I do. I’ve been away from home for longer periods than this before, and there’s always Skype. Somehow being in another country makes it seem a little harder though. The Lord has definitely given me a new appreciation for the people He has placed in my life back home and I realize how...

A Love that Overflows!

“But he said, ‘What is impossible with men is possible with God.’” Luke 18:27   As I lay awake last night, really frustrated that I had drank coffee too late, I started dreaming with God. 🙂 I then became thankful for the coffee, because now it was just Jesus and I.   I started dreaming with God. Dreaming of what he is going to do on Bangla while we are here, and after we leave. We will leave God’s fragrance. The road won’t be as dark, because we are there. People will of seen God’s love through our eyes.   God has his plan for...

Delivered and Set Free

“In the day when I cried out, you answered me, and made me bold with strength in my soul.” Psalm 138:3               You know what is great about our God? HE FORGIVES!! It doesn’t matter what you have done, the Lord has already forgiven you. He knows what you wore your 3rd birthday, knows where you sat on the bus today, he knows what you were thinking about in 1st period lecture that wasn’t Biology, and he knows that you will end up living on Hartford Street in the brown house in the third one down even...

Lanterns in the Sky

This ministry is hard. I know that should have been obvious coming into it, but man it really is HARD, and it’s hard in a way that my team couldn’t have prepared for even if we tried. Thursday, I asked the Lord to really let me see the brokenness on Bangla Road. Well, He delivered that’s for sure! As soon as we walked on to Bangla Road, my ministry team decided that we needed to pray a little more before we walked into a bar.  As we were praying, we noticed a lantern in the sky, which just so happens to hold a beautiful promise to me: See, the first night we went to...

The Hook Of Death…

Family: Do not panic.   Every other day we go to the land and do manual labor to bless the Biddells’. There is a hook that we swing into the water to scrape the crap off the bottom of the swamp. Mr. Mark told me to give it a try, so I did. When I did it grazed my leg and I have a little cut. I had to get 2 stitches, a booster shot, and I’m on antibiotics.  On the bright side, I got to see what a Thai hospital looked like (it was legit and cheap). So I am okay! It happened on Wednesday and it should be healed up in a week. No worries! (:  PS. Props to Victoria and...

For the Love of Ants

Ants are everywhere. They are in your clothes, food, drinks, shoes, bed, hair and much more. It’s SO hard to get rid of ants. You spray bug spray and 5 minutes later they’re back. We’ve gotten to where we spray them with hairspray and paralyze them long enough so that we can sweep them up. And they STILL come back.   I am slowly learning to have a love for ants. The sweet family down the street has a drink stand and there are ants crawling all over it. Unfortunately, I have a love for slushies so I get at least 2 drinks a day… Recently there have been ants in...
