That’s What I Get…….

Humility.  Over last year I realized just how much I lacked that quality. But I know the power of prayer. Hence I never prayed that God would make me humble. I knew that if I prayed for humility God would deliver, and it would be painful. So I tried to fix my ego on my own.             As I sat on the balcony in the already hot morning, I lowered my head, gulped down my pride, and once more admitted that I was struggling to my team. It was one thing to be honest about my struggles when I was in a triumphant place, or at least a...

Make a Joyful Noise Unto the Lord

Ok, I fully admit I am eating my words. I am willingly- and even more than advised- blogging. I can't help it! God is too good and I had to share! Short and sweet version of it: Remember from my last post that our group was going to have ice cream with some girls from a bar? We sure did. and let me tell you, it was the most beautiful conversation I have ever had.  Last week I knew I was supposed to leave Tip a letter telling her that there was a God who loved her more than she could ever know. I explained it in simple words and left it with her. I had no clue how it was going to be...

And then the Dog came . . .

Last night when I was on Bangla Road here in Phuket, Thailand, God took me on a date. Yes, the God of the universe, who created everything- took me on a date.  My group as out last night doing bar ministry and each night I pray that it will look different than what we expect- risky, yes I know! So as soon as we step foot on Bangla Road, a guy from Dubai comes up and asks us what we are doing here (I am going to go out on a limb here and say that he totally saw God in us and knew right away that we were not here for the same reasons he was J ). Talked with him for a...

This Fruit Looks A Little Weird To Me

One night this past week was extremely hard for me. You see, we pray each night before we step foot on Bangla road and ask God where He wants us to go and such. Well Tuesday night, we had nothing. We had no concrete words from God of where to go.  So as we are praying and walking down Bangla Road, we see a bar that has maybe 2 customers in it and a line of girls trying to make people come in. So we decided to go in and were completely ignored. There was no one else in the bar and girls behind the bar looked completely bored and those on the sidewalk hardly...

A Love Letter

Last night my team felt like the Lord wanted us to just intercede. So instead of going into the bars on Bangla, we sat in a Starbucks on Bangla and prayed. After a while, I got my ipod and my journal and went and sat at one of the tables outside. I turned up worship music really loud on my ipod and began to just pray for all the people that were walking by. Bangla Road looked like a totally different place when instead of hearing blaring club music, I heard worship music. I was overwhelmed with the realization that all of the people passing me were God's children. I was surrounded by...

God’s Hands Are Holding Me

Do you know that God holds us in His hands?? He wants us to depend on Him for EVERYTHING. When we don't let him hold us, we are not in sync will all that He has for us. We worry, we doubt, we stress out and think that we have to do it all. This is where I was a few days ago. I am not usually an anxious person, but thats where I was at this time.    I turned on my ipod to do a quiet time, because I had to give it to the Lord. The first song that played was "By your side" by Brandon Heath. God often speaks to me through music, and lyrics will suddenly...
