“Lord I want more of you…living water rain down on me…”

You might wonder how it's possible for 22 young girls to be trained for a summer fighting sex trafficking in Thailand over a mere four days…well it turns out that nothing can really truly prepare us.  Which I believe is exactly how God prefers it.      We were in Chattanooga, Tennessee from Friday afternoon until Tuesday morning, enjoying the lush green forestry and sweating A LOT! (which was definitely a preparation for Thailand in and of itself).  Although the thought of leaving tomorrow morning to head off scares us all to death, it...

Jesus Joy Conquers All!

Whew!  Where do I even begin?  The past week has been a whirlwind of meet-and-greets, dancing, worshipping, sweating, and flying.  I have been stretched in all directions, challenged, and encouraged beyond imagination. I'll start at the beginning: stretched.  I arrived at the Chattanooga airport at 3:05pm on Friday afternoon.  Next thing I know, I'm saying goodbye to my mother, sitting down with my group, and beginning to form friendships.  We arrive at our training camp center, which was a beautiful camp located in exactly, hmmm, the middle of...

Hope and Love are Rising. Lord, to You, let the Thai sing!

Hello family and friends:) First of all, I am so sorry it has taken me awhile to get to you on this blog. As expected, it has been quite busy, but I would love to update this more and will definitely be trying hard to do that!   I am , at the moment, sitting in our YWAM training center room in Bangkok, Thailand. Bangkok in bustling, yet we're on the outskirts, so it isn't very overwhelming. The Thai people are friendly and welcoming as they run stores in the mall where we were able to look around yesterday  and in their street booths where we have purchased fresh fruit and...

Humbled by Love

We made it to Cambodia after a nine hour bus ride, which I hardly slept on….long lines at the Bangkok airport, and a bumpy airplane ride…….we made it! We were told we would be working with an outreach called Remember Nhu, which is a girl's home in Cambodia. This home takes in girls that are at risk of being trafficked into the sex industry. They give them an education, and a stable home spiritually and emotionally. After our journey, I was feeling very tired and exhausted but when we pulled up to the house, all the girls came running out waiving and smiling at us. We...

Jesus Loves the Little Children

Since Monday, we have been up in the northern most part of Thailand, Mae Sai, working with the Drop-In Center (DIC). The DIC is about 2 kilometers(if that) from the Thai/Burmese border and it is a place for Burmese kids to come and hang out from 9 in the morning until 4 in the afternoon where they can play games, learn about Jesus, learn Thai and English, get a good meal, and just be a kid. Whenever we woke up on Tuesday morning, we were not prepared for the 30+ that were waiting for us to come play with them and just love on them. The entire week was filled with games, songs, crafts, bible...

When the World is Shaking Around You

earthquake |ˈərθËŒkwÄk| noun a sudden and violent shaking of the ground, sometimes causing great destruction, as a result of movements within the earth's crust or volcanic action. Im not gonna lie. I was scared. Im from Alberta, Canada. We generally don’t have earthquakes. My first thought was a train is rumbling past. And then logic kicked in. I am in the middle of the city. There is barely enough room for one car to pass through the street in front of us. We scrambled outside, after foolishly trying to fit under tables or anything for that matter. We must have looked...
