I can Only get Better

I'm very nervous but excited for Thailand, I'm actually kind of scared of what God's about to do in my life but I'm trusting Him to take me through, and I'm wishing somehow God will make the plane land in Africa instead of Thailand, I don't even care if it isn't Uganda I just want to be back on African soil. I want to be back in Africa so much I've even thought about sneaking into the cockpit and overtake the two pilots and start flying the plane. The only thing wrong with my plan is I can't read the instruments… and would end up crashing – maybe… However,...

Shining Like Stars

Upon arriving at training camp, my team and I were instructed to choose three items from our belongings and told that we would be spending the night in the woods! “Choose wisely,” the leaders told us, because we would not be able to return to our suitcase until 9:30 the next morning. I’ll admit.. I was a little shocked, but I put a smile on my face, grabbed my pillow, sheet, and bible and decided to make the best of it!  Six hours later, around 2AM … laying on the hard ground, sharing a small sheet with 4 other girls (spooning for warmth!).. Freedom! for all

Never in my life have i ever expected to find myself in a little ole place called Chattanooga. As far as I was concerned that was the name of some obsucre fowl species.  Turns out Chattanooga, and specifiaclly the campsite where we are located, is a place full of southern class and variety. I have never encountered such a diverse group of arachnids or insects in my life.  However, I also could not imagine a better way to begin a sumer full of service. The emphasis in finding purpose seeking freedom, encountering Jesus is absolutely mind-blowing. It's safe to say Jesus is alive...

The Harvest was Ready

We have been praying for the harvest……that it would be ready, and it was picked and ready on Friday night. You go out to Bangla Road, praying and wanting God to show you big things……and sometimes you get in the truck after pouring out your heart all night, and you see no real harvest. At first it can be hard because you have so much passion for these women, and you pour out so much love and at the end of the day, the numbers are still the same. At first this is hard to grasp, but then you see how God is in all the small things….and really it's just about you...

Bold Love

“Did you know that a caterpillar has 228 separate and distinct muscles in its head? The average elm tree has approximately 6 million leaves on it. And your heart generates enough pressure as it pumps blood throughout your body that it could squirt blood up to 30 feet. There are over 3,000 different species of trees within one square mile in the Amazon jungle. There are over 100 different kinds of bananas. Have you ever thought about the way that plants defy gravity by drawing water upward from the ground into their stems and veins? Or did you know that spiders produce three kinds of silk?...
