Safe Arrival

I just received a call from Ashley, the team leader, and the team has arrived safely in Thailand.  They will be in route to their ministry location and will be settling in these next few days and getting some orientation from their host.  Expect to see some blogs rolling out in the next few days as they find internet. Thanks for all the prayers for this team! Kayla Hindes Passport field support team

You Know You Want To Read This

Training Camp is Officially Over! Tomorrow we head out to the airport! Next stop…THAILAND! I have been so blessed this week at training camp. This team God has blessed me with is incredible beyond words. They are full on worshippers and lovers of God. I am so excited to see where God is taking us this season in Phuket, Thailand. Let me tell you, the nation of Thailand doesn't know what's coming! This team is full of Kingdom bringers and that nation is never going to be the same! So…without further ado…meet team Thailand! My New Culture Won’t Fade

Note: I wrote this last week, and now have the chance to post… When you move to another country typically you pick up some of the cultural norms. Here’s a few things I’ve picked up on here in Thailand: I bow all the time. Examples: when I greet someone, when I say “Thank you,” when I say "excuse me" to get around someone, when I pass through a group of people, etc. I don’t stand in lines. We are leaving.. HE is Not!

How do you sum up three and a half months? How do you sum up relationships that mean so much to you? How do you sum up the ways you've seen the Holy Spirit come through in countless ways for you? Thinking, and reading others blog's letting the gears in my head grind out ideas of what to say. I'm starting to realize I need to just take an idea and stick with it. ;p But which...

Same Same… but VERY Different

“Same Same… But Different”   This is a common phrased used among Thai people and is now a part of my team’s favorite things to say. This phrase is fitting for how I would describe myself and the prostitutes I saw on Bangla Road after ministry Tuesday morning. Let me explain, usually my team will go to Bangla from 9:30 p.m. to 12 a.m. to do ministry, which usually consists of prayer walking the street, talking to various bar and ping pong (strip show) promoters, and women in the bars. We’ve done this for the past 3 months, it’s been wonderful and...

breaking tradition

One week of ministry left. Less than two weeks until I am back in Michigan. (bittersweet)   2 months ago, I would have told you that I was ready to leave Thailand at a moments notice, but do I still feel that way? 2 months ago, I wanted to leave because it was hard to live here.  Life was uncomfortable and difficult.  giving things up on a daily basis.  uncomfortable and difficult. pushing to get out of my crap.  uncomfortable and difficult. constantly serving others.  uncomfortable and difficult. striving to be the woman that God has called me to...
