The Hook Of Death…

Family: Do not panic.   Every other day we go to the land and do manual labor to bless the Biddells’. There is a hook that we swing into the water to scrape the crap off the bottom of the swamp. Mr. Mark told me to give it a try, so I did. When I did it grazed my leg and I have a little cut. I had to get 2 stitches, a booster shot, and I’m on antibiotics.  On the bright side, I got to see what a Thai hospital looked like (it was legit and cheap). So I am okay! It happened on Wednesday and it should be healed up in a week. No worries! (:  PS. Props to Victoria and...

For the Love of Ants

Ants are everywhere. They are in your clothes, food, drinks, shoes, bed, hair and much more. It’s SO hard to get rid of ants. You spray bug spray and 5 minutes later they’re back. We’ve gotten to where we spray them with hairspray and paralyze them long enough so that we can sweep them up. And they STILL come back.   I am slowly learning to have a love for ants. The sweet family down the street has a drink stand and there are ants crawling all over it. Unfortunately, I have a love for slushies so I get at least 2 drinks a day… Recently there have been ants in...

Bear one another’s burdens

Since before this trip began I have wrestled with God over what he wanted for me in this mission. My heart is working with women who are trapped in the sex industry, but I wasn’t sure why God was calling me to be a leader because that meant pouring into them instead of what I thought my heart was.  I can honestly say that God has completely changed my heart and has been showing me what loving your sisters in Christ really looks like. He has been showing me that loving my girls is more than just a prayer or a shoulder to cry but it is carrying one another’s burdens....

The enemy is losing his grip!

Our house is near the Bang wad dam here in Kathu and today for those of us that were left at the house we went prayer walking to the dam. As silly and frivolous as this may seem it is something that is desperately needed.             You see there is a shrine on the side of the mountain overlooking the dam. For years the young people were sent here to have sex because of the favor and fertility powers that this shrine had. About 6 months ago they started sending teams to do prayer walks on the dam....

Getting Dirty

How do I sum up my first week of ministry here in Thailand?  How could I possibly attempt to explain how my God has taken my world and completely turned it upside down?  My eyes have been opened.  My heart has been broken.  Nothing stops here though.  My eyes have been opened to see what God’s eyes have the ability to see, brokenness made beautiful and hope restored.  My heart has been broken, and then put back together with the perfect love of Christ.  I want to see what He sees.  I want to love how He loves. Yesterday, I had the...

God can work through donkeys….and even pop stars

Before I start this tale of God moving let me first say that one I never sleep with my headphones in because i end up singing along instead of sleeping. Now that that is out of the way let me tell how God showed up…            2am Monday morning I was woken up by something and was frustrated when I didn’t see the reason of me waking from my slumber and then I heard the song coming through my ear buds and my jaw dropped. I had never heard this song before that early morning (which for those that know me...
