Training Camp is Officially Over! Tomorrow we head out to the airport! Next stop…THAILAND! I have been so blessed this week at training camp. Probably the biggest thing that training camp has taught me is that God has SPECIFICALLY placed me on this Thailand team to go out and be a vessel that He will work through.  HE has filled me up with an amazing confidence in knowing that HE will sustain me and nothing else can.   I came into training camp not really knowing what to expect.  I thought that I would get a culture briefing and get supercharged in my faith, but I definitely didn’t expect to be sleeping in a hand made tent .  All of those things happened, but not quite in the ways I had expected. ...

August 27th was the big day…leaving my family to come to Georgia for training camp. After an emotional Sunday morning saying goodbye to church family, I was pretty anxious about coming to training. I wasn't so sure what to expect. I expected a lot of sitting & listening to talks & basically just to be spiritually prepared for the 3.5 month journey we're about to embark on. I was nervous to say the least. But when my team all arrived, it was like we knew each other already. A lot of my nervousness was washed away by that alone. Wow! Training camp is amazing! Not at all what I was expecting but that's the best type right? God moves in the most ridiculous ways. Because this is my second training camp as a Passport participant my prayer throughout this week has been “God, please block my memory from last time.” God has been so faithful and though I have still remembered things from last year I couldn’t necessarily predict what was next. When I first signed up for The Passport trip, I didn't know there would even be a training camp. I anticipated August 27th, to roll around and I could jet off to my long awaited Thailand. Wrong! I flew into Georgia for a four day training camp instead. Day 1- Built my own shelter and slept on the ground after being awake for 30 + hours (awesome!… no, not really…) Day 2- Carried my emotional baggage on a mile long hike through a hot and humid forest, where I surrendered that baggage over to God, our Victor!
