We're working on settling in and getting acclimated. Im not finding it as diffulcult as I had expected. As part of our training we were sent out on a scavenger hunt to take pictures and do certain things around Phuket, if we had any questions we could only ask Thai people only! Sounds fun right?? I was thoroughly excited. We split in teams of three and set out on our adventures. My team didn't accomplish everything on the list that we had to do but we did get a lot of the optional extra things done 🙂 lol and we had great fun. Not going to lie the first few times...

Reflections

It’s 8 a.m. which means I’ve been up for almost 5 hours. Though I have not missed jet lag, I didn’t mind being awake so early. It gave me a lot of time to think, to pray, time to reflect – in silence. Silence doesn’t come so often in community, so I embraced the early morning. By 5:40, the sun was coming up. I grabbed my journal, bible and iPod to head downstairs. I walked up to the window and opened it to breath in the fresh air, one word came to my mind. Freedom. I had this overwhelming sense of freedom and with that began praising the Lord...

Team Update

Family & Friends, We have made it safely to our ministry site 'She' in Phuket! You can expect to hear from your girls within the next few days as we get settled in. Thanks for continuing to cover us in Prayer!

We just spoke with the team leader and they've all arrived safely in Thailand. They are in route to their ministry site via some very long bus rides and will be settling in these next few days and getting some orientation from their host. Training Camp

August 27th was the big day…leaving my family to come to Georgia for training camp. After an emotional Sunday morning saying goodbye to church family, I was pretty anxious about coming to training. I wasn't so sure what to expect. I expected a lot of sitting & listening to talks & basically just to be spiritually prepared for the 3.5 month journey we're about to embark on. I was nervous to say the least. But when my team all arrived, it was like we knew each other already. A lot of my nervousness was washed away by that alone.
